FiveP has a holistic integrated manufacturing facility to deliver products in fully packaged condition. Furthermore, our emphasis will be more on building core competencies around material, fabric and process innovations. We complement the creativity that designers on the buy side bring to the table.
Prototype Development Centre
Five P has an advanced Prototype Development Centre (PDC), which is well equipped to produce a range of fabrics from jacquard to double cloths. The PDC is also equipped to stitch fully finished apparels or home furnishings, using its in-house resources.
Identification of new fabric structures, material compositions, improvisation of processes and value addition techniques to give life to a concept. We use well furbished fabric and trims library to come up with working prototypes at short notice.
Application of visualization technologies complemented by physical sampling processes and testing out the functional aspects of design, product construction, durability and usability.
A concept becomes commercially viable only if it can be produced for a cost that the market is ready to accept. Our PDC is equipped to try out various scenarios to help customers meet their price points with least of dilutions in the original design.
- Two loom sheds measuring 6400 sq. feet each with a total of 54 looms have come up at the Chennimalai location.
- As part of our policy to produce high value fabrics, we use mostly cotton, linen, cotton linen mix and other fibers of high value.
Dyeing & Finishing
Our dyeing requirements are met by factories that are cleared for their ESG standards. We use only azo free dyes, organic dyes and vegetable dyes as part of our goals to reduce the chemical, pesticide and water footprints in the products we produce. We have taken some conscious steps to engage the services of only those facilities that use Zero Liquid Discharge to manage the effluents from their dyeing processes.
We have at present a single “all purpose’ production line that is capable of stitching a limited range of garments. For larger volumes that require more specialized machines and finish we work with a third party stitching unit that is well equipped to produce the merchandise.
To complement our hand weaving, we offer an exciting range of surface embellishments and prints such as zardosi, chikankari, crystal work and hand block printing. Since these skills are not native to Chennimalai, we have them done by workers who belong to the communities that are known for them. Though the location may be different, the purity of the skills that make these expressions possible remain true to the promise offered by Five P. We work with third-party groups that offer these skills.
We follow Hydra QGATE system that basically checks every output at each process migration point using the six-sigma standards. Every single item from trim to finished product are checked for its quality compliances with our Quality Assurance team having total visibility to the entire process via our online QC system.
